PT. Pelangi Niaga Mitra Internasional places the highest priority on Safety and Environmental protection. The company’s personnel at all levels, both onshore and onboard the vessel are fully committed to safe working practices to preserve human life, avoid injuries and protect environment.

     Safety and environment protection is the concern of all and has no rank. Management is committed to making all personnel safety conscious and concerned for environment. All employees are encouraged to become actively involved in identifying possible hazard, implementing corrective action and constantly monitoring all facets of their work circumstances to ensure that a safe work environment exists.

    The company conducts safety training sessions with professional training companies. The company has also started Safety Awareness Program (SAPS). Employees are encouraged to identify unsafe practices and circumstances and to cease work around them until such time as they are corrected and approved by safety officer. All the suggestions to negate unsafe acts or condition are received and reviewed by safety implementation team. The three premium recommendations are then selected and the employees who have submitted them are rewarded accordingly.

    PT. Pelangi Niaga Mitra Internasional has embraced the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO), International Safety Management (ISM) Code requirement within it’s safety management system. The company has empowered department with full responsibility and authority to implement and maintain ISM Code requirement.

    PT. Pelangi Niaga Mitra Internasional’s office has received Documents of Compliance (DOC) for ISM Code requirement & comply to ISO 9001:2008 standard. Also all marine vessel has been verified & certified to meet ISM Code requirement.

    The company has established policy for environment protection. It is based on guidelines set out in OHSAS and IMO regulations. The onshore staff and marine crew are trained to comply with regulations. The safety and environment protection will continue to be a key factor of the company’s culture and all employees at Pelangi will strive to ensure that its standards will exceed client expectations and industry standard.
